You project your consciousness into the Astral Plane, searching for a specific creature that you are familiar with and wish to retrieve. The target must be in the Astral Plane, and you must have an object or possession that is strongly linked to the creature.
While concentrating on this spell, you move through the Astral Plane, guided by your connection to the target creature. The spell grants you the following abilities:
- You gain advantage on Intelligence (Investigation) checks made to locate the creature within the Astral Plane.
- You can use your action to project your voice into the Astral Plane, calling out to the creature you seek. The target creature can attempt a Wisdom saving throw to resist the call. On a failed save, it hears your voice and may be inclined to respond or investigate.
- You gain advantage on Charisma (Persuasion) checks made to convince other entities or creatures in the Astral Plane to provide information about the target's whereabouts.
- You can perceive into nearby ethereal portals and can sense if the target creature has passed through them, gaining an instinctive direction to follow.
If the target creature is willing and able to return, you can guide it back to the plane from which it was taken. Otherwise, the spell helps you track its location and gather valuable information for future retrieval attempts.
Once the spell ends or you choose to end it, your consciousness returns to your body in the original plane.
**At Higher Levels:** When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 6th level or higher, you can target an additional creature for retrieval, provided you have an object or possession strongly linked to each target creature.
Please note that this is a custom spell and may require adjustments or further customization based on your campaign setting and DM's discretion.
