You perform a forbidden blood ritual, tapping into the essence of life and death. As part of the ritual, you sacrifice a significant portion of your own blood. Choose one of the following effects:
-
Bloodweave Pact: You form a powerful pact with a creature of your choice, permanently binding it to your service. The creature must be willing to enter into the pact. Once the pact is formed, the creature gains the benefits of a dominate monster spell with no initial saving throw. The pact cannot be broken unless both you and the creature willingly agree to dissolve it.
While engaged in this pact, the affected creature gains the traits of a familiar, allowing you to cast spells with a range of touch through them, see through their eyes and remain telepathically linked. Your pact creature retains their personality and personal abilities, and shares your initiative, acting immediately after you in the turn order.
-
Bloodbane: You mark a specific creature with a curse of blood, causing it to suffer severe repercussions whenever it uses or is targeted by blood-related magic. Choose a creature you know who is on the same plane as you. That creature has disadvantage on all spellcasting ability checks and saving throws, and any healing it receives is halved until the curse is removed. The curse remains until removed by a greater restoration spell or a similar effect.
-
Bloodwell Surge: You tap into the infinite well of blood energy, instantly restoring all your hit points, regaining all expended spell slots, and gaining immunity to all damage types for 1 minute. At the end of the minute, you suffer one level of exhaustion. Additionally, any creatures within 30 feet of you at the time of casting must make a Constitution saving throw or suffer 10d10 necrotic damage, or half as much on a successful save.
