In dim light or darkness on the Prime Material Plane, you cause an area of shadow that you can see to become a Shadowfell crossing point. You and up to eight other creatures who you touch (or are touching you) may step through this crossing point, and be transported to the Shadowfell. The location that you arrive in is the Shadowfell mirror version of the location that you just left on the Prime Material Plane. The crossing point vanishes immediately after the last person you are touching (or is touching you) steps through.  If you cast this spell while in the Shadowfell, the reverse happens. 

This spell only works on the Prime Material Plane and in the Shadowfell. Attempts to cast this spell on other planes of existence will have no effect.

If a location is in continual darkness, or continually bathed in shadows, then you can create a permanent Shadowfell crossing point there. To do so, you must cast this spell in the same location once every seven days for one year.  If you create a permanent Shadowfell crossing point in this way, any creature will be able to cross over from both sides of the crossing.
