Altmore was ever ready with a witty comeback in a conversation, as well as in combat. When the caster has been successfully attacked they may choose to make one of the following reactions to alter the effects of the attack.

Mitigation: Using a dexterous move or sheer force of will and magic, the caster may reduce the damage of an attack by half, or make a critical hit a regular one.

Push: You use the momentum of the aggressor’s melee attack to push them 10 feet in a direction away from the caster. The aggressor must make a DC 10 (plus the caster’s level) dexterity check, or fall prone.

Disarm: Using a melee weapon, attempt to disarm an attacking opponent. Opposed skill check using the attribute that the attacker is using to modify their attacks (strength, dexterity, etc.). On a successful disarm, the attacker loses their weapon and the weapon moves 1D4 x 10 feet in a random direction. On a critical success, the caster may choose to immediately take control of the weapon.

Reflection: Allows you to attempt to master and redirect a spell. Opposed skill check using the aggressor’s spell casting attribute (Wisdom, Intelligence, Charisma, etc.). On a successful roll, the caster may redirect the spell to another target or to another location. Spells that automatically target and hit opponents must be directed to another target or the attempt to redirect the spell fails and hits the original target.

Stun: For a moment, you break the attacker’s attention and they cannot make a reaction (such as an attack of opportunity) for one round. If the attacker has a concentration spell, they must successfully save to maintain the spell or it fails.

At higher levels: If cast at level 4, the caster gets two reactons, and at level 5, three reactions.
