Blessing of Thorns

You imbue one creature you touch with the retributive nature of thorns. For the duration, when the target takes damage from a melee attack, the attacker takes piercing damage equal to 2d6 + your spellcasting ability modifier.

At higher levels. When you cast this spell with a spell slot of 4th level or higher, the damage is increased by 1d6 per slot level above third.
