You reach your hand up, and quickly close it. A giant plant of your choosing emerges from the earth below, and begins to envelop the target. For the duration of the spell, whenever the target moves 5 feet or more, they suffer the effect corresponding with the type of plant you choose:
|
Plant |
Description |
Effect |
|
Pricklith |
A rough, dark green plant with sharp spines. |
For every 5 feet the target moves, they take 3d8 piercing damage. |
|
Varestim |
A droopy light green plant with bulbous purple ends. |
For every 5 feet the target moves, they take 2d8 poison damage. They gain the poisoned condition, giving them disadvantage on attack rolls and ability checks. |
|
Fuegole |
A thick, bright red plant with spots of yellow. |
For every 5 feet the target moves, they take 2d8 fire damage. Attack rolls against the target have advantage. |
The target must make a Constitution saving throw at the start of each of their turns. On a success, the spell ends.
Additionally, the square(s) that the target was occupying when the spell was first cast on them, and any squares they walk on become infested with the plant type chosen. As such, anyone who crosses the path will take the corresponding effect. Note that the original target does not take damage from this, as the path only becomes infested after they walk through it.
