You riddle one creature with numerous wounds and mold their lifeblood into regenerative energy for another. Make a melee spell attack. On a hit, the target creature takes 6d4 necrotic damage, and a willing creature of your choice that you can see within melee range other than yourself regains a number of hit points equal to the necrotic damage you dealt.
If the target creature is a construct, elemental, or ooze, the creature you choose to heal regains no hit points. If the target creature is undead, the creature you choose to heal takes an equal amount of damage, instead. The spell functions normally if the target creature and the creature you choose to heal are both undead.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 4th level or higher, the damage increases by 1d4 for each slot level above 3rd.
