You create a bolt of magical lightning that bounces from the target to target.
For a maximum of 3 targets within range, the lightning will begin at the target with fewest Hit Points, and then bounce from target to target in order of ascending Hit Points.
The target must make a Dexterity Saving Throw. On a failure, the target takes 1d6 Lightning damage, and the spell will move on to the next target with the fewest Hit Points. On a success, the target takes no damage, but if the next target fails their throw, they will take an additional 1d6 Lightning damage. This continues for each target, with the number of d6 damage rolls increasing for each target skipped.
If the final target succeeds on their saving throw, they take no damage, and the spell ends.
At Higher Levels. When casting this spell using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher you can target one additional creature for each slot level above 1st.
