You awaken a primal fear in each creature in a 20-foot-radius sphere centered on a point you choose within range. A construct or an undead is immune to this effect as are creatures with an intelligence of 5 or lower. The targets must succeed on a Sanity saving throw or suffer a short term madness effect. (P259 DMG)
The maddened target can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success. If an effected creature fails to end this effect before the allotted 1d10 minutes of the madness or the spell is concentrated on for the full duration, they must roll on the long term madness table and stop rolling saving throws at the end of their turns. (P260 DMG)
If this spell is cast as a ritual and the target is the Living creature being used as the material and/or allied with them, this spell does not need to consume it's material component but merely threaten too.
* - (A living creature which is killed in the casting of this spell)
