You attempt to syphon away the power of a spell from the mage casting it. When you cast this spell, you and the target must make a contested roll using your spellcasting ability modifiers. If you win, you negate the spell and regain an expended spell slot of the spell's level or lower. Please note, the target still expends the spell slot even if the spell is absorbed.

At higher levels. When you cast this spell with a spell slot of 6th level or higher, you gain a +1 bonus to the roll for each slot level above 5th.
