Catalyst

-spell for yet unmade homebrew class, "anomaly"-

When hit by a ranged spell attack, you coat yourself in a protective layer of magical energy allowing the magical energy to flow around you. You then make a melee spell attack against a target within range. On a hit, you pass on the effects of the spell onto the target.
If the ranged spell attack is from a spell whose level is greater than the level you cast this spell at, your attack suffers a penalty equal to the difference in levels. If you cast this spell at a level greater than the attack then you attack gains a bonus equal to the difference.
