A herd of spectral flying bisons begin to converge flying around in the sky at least 10ft off the ground, within a 30-foot radius circle centered on a point you can see within range directly above you. The spell fails if you can’t see a point in the air where the bisons appear (for example, if you are in a room which has a ceiling below 10ft).
When you cast the spell, choose a point on the ground you can see under the bisons. A bolt of penetrative lightning strikes down from the bisons to that point. A creature at that point must make a Dexterity saving throw. It takes 2d8 lightning damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. On each of your subsequent turns until the spell ends, you can use your bonus action to call down lightning in this way again, targeting the same point or a different one.
If you target the same creature consecutively, add an additional 1d8 to the total damage dealt.
At Higher Levels. For every 2 levels above 2nd, you can target an additional point with another penetrative bolt.
