You touch a willing creature. Until the spell ends, the target's skin has a rough, bark-like appearance, and the target's base AC becomes 16. The creature can gain no benefits to AC from its dexterity modifier or from wearing armour, but still gains the AC bonuses from using a shield, taking cover, spells such as shield of faith; or other effects that increase AC at your DM's discretion (eg bracers of defense.)
(this is a fix from the original spell, which required concentration and for some insane reason conveyed no bonuses from using a shield, taking cover etc.)
