You create a skin-tight psychokinetic barrier around one willing Medium or smaller creature you can see within range, which absorbs and stores the kinetic and magical energy of incoming attacks against the target.

Until the spell ends, whenever the target is subjected to damage, it takes no damage and instead gains a number of temporary hit points equal to the damage dealt. Furthmore, if the target is subjected to a negative effect before the spell ends, it is suppressed for the duration.

The temporary hit points gained from this effect are accumulative, meaning each time the target gains more, it adds them to any it already has. The target can't gain temporary hit points from any other source until the spell ends.

For the duration, whenever the target hits with a melee attack it can sacrifice any number of its remaining temporary hit points to deal an equal amount of extra damage with the attack. The target can also choose to afflict one or more of its suppressed effects with the attack, ending an effect on itself and transferring it to the attack's recipient, by spending an additional 10 temporary hit point per transferred effect.

After dealing extra damage or transferring one or more effects in this way, the target loses a further 1d12 temporary hit points to entropy.

The spell ends early if the target ends its turn with 0 temporary hit points.

In addition to whenever you would normally be required to do so, you must also roll to maintain your concentration on this spell at the start of each of the target's turns.  The DC for this concentration roll is equal to 10 + the target's current number of temporary hit points divided by 10, rounded up.  Thus, if the target currently has 55 temporary hit points, the DC would be 16 (10 + (55 ÷ 10, rounded up)).

When the spell ends, the target immediately takes damage equal to twice its remaining temporary hit points, which can't be reduced or prevented in any way. It then suffers all suppressed negative effects still afflicting it.
