When a spell effect or ranged attack effect is used within 30 feet of you that you can identify, you can cast this spell and instantly displace yourself to a safer location. The minimum distance you move must be at least equal to 5 feet outside of the maximum range of the triggering spell or ranged attack. Roll a 1d4 to determine the direction: 1 for north, 2 for east, 3 for south, and 4 for west. Roll 3d20 to determine the distance you move. The combined result of the 3d20 represents the number of feet you move in that chosen direction or 5 outside of the maximum range of the triggering spell or ranged attack.
If the maximum range of the triggering spell or ranged attack exceeds 60 feet, (or at higher levels, 100 feet), this spell fails.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, you gain more control over your displacement. When cast as a 2nd-level spell, you can choose the direction of your displacement. When cast as a 4th-level spell, you can choose both the direction and a specific position within 100 feet.
