Raw magic bursts from the weave striking a creature within range. Make a ranged spell attack against the target to direct the energy. On a hit, the target takes 1d10 damage.
Due to the unpredictable nature of raw magic, the damage type cannot be predetermined. However more common magical types are easier to channel into higher outputs. The damage type is determined by the d10 damage roll, as shown below.

Since the magical energy is extracted directly from the weave close to the target. In practical terms this means that it has a chance to ignore - or be subject to - half & three-quarters cover. Roll to determine the direction of attack, and assess cover from that direction.(For simplicity's sake, at your GM's discretion you may choose to simply base the cover status on the most common cover type surrounding the target)
The spell creates more than one burst when you reach higher levels: two bursts at 5th level, three bursts at 11th level, and four bursts at 17th level. You can direct the weave to strike the same target or different ones with each burst. Make a separate attack roll for each burst.
