You gesture with the hand holding or wearing the material component used in the spell's casting, and command a bipedal creature within 5 feet of you to kneel. The target must make a Strength saving throw. A creature can voluntarily fail this save. On a successful save, the creature takes 1d4 force damage. On a failure, the creature is immediately forced into a kneeling position. While kneeling in this way, the creature is affected by the prone condition, but attack rolls from attackers more than 5 feet away do not have disadvantage.
A creature that already prone or is not standing on solid ground is unaffected by this spell.
The spell’s damage increases by 1d4 when you reach 5th level (2d4), 11th level (3d4), and 17th level (4d4).
