You create a translucent, 5ft. tall shield, anywhere in range and is made of completely air. You may do this as a reaction, a bonus action, or an action. It does nothing to help your AC though, because non-living matter passes right through it, and living creatures pass through if they want to pass through.
At higher levels: When the caster is 5th level, they can create two shields in the same spell cast; at 10th level, they can create 3 shields; at 16th level, they can create four.
