Arcane Core: By compressing the energy from one's innate arcane power, the user is able to form these runic balls of magical energy that can be shot/thrown out as a ranged projectile and upon hit (or command as they can be left in places or thrown to corners and commanded to release by the user) release a magical effect based on the source of magic (fire, lightning, necrotic, radiant, cold, force, healing, etc). 10 cores can be created by the cantrip and only thee can be thrown out per hand (unless the character has large hands like a goliath or leonin or something). The cores are a bit larger than the size of large marbles (similar to a chonk D20) and can be stored in almost any conditions as they are fully stable unless commanded by the creator to be otherwise. Even if they are hit or blasted with powerful spells, they may not always break (if the user is carrying in a pouch or something and falls or gets knocked down or gets hit by fireball the cores are not going to break and explode unless dictated by DM and player alike). Of the 10 cores, they can each be made into different forms of magic (could create 3 fire, 3 force, 2 healing and 2 necrotic or any combination)
More cores can be created if in a similar environment to the type of magic being used (ex, 15 lightning cores in one free action during a storm with lightning)
Make a ranged attack or use spell attack
The cores each do 3d8 (or 2d12) damage of the associated magic type (or healing in the case they are made to heal, note, this can be done, even if the character has no access to healing spells)
The range is about as far as one can throw or use a device to fling the cores (slingshot, firearm, arrow and bow, etc).
Depending on the magic the effect can differ, it is up to the player and DM to come to an agreement to what each type of magic core does but the following are some ideas:
Radiant: Upon releasing the vast energy contained in the cores, a blast of radiant erupts centered on a point in a 5 foot radius momentarily stunning all creatures within range (unless otherwise hidden or immune) and dealing 3d8 or 2d12 radiant damage.
Force: Upon release the vast energy stored up rockets outward and repulses everything centered on a point in a 5 foot radius (repulses creatures back a maximum of 5 feet and can knock prone or, pulls targets and objects towards the point (max of 5 feet towards the center), dealing 3d8 or 2d12 damage
Fire: The core shoots out across the sky like a phoenix and upon striking its target it releases furious fire that scorches the target and sends out streaks of flame in a 5 foot radius centered on the core dealing 3d8 or 2d12 damage to all caught in the flaming blast.
Lightning: The core strikes it target and with the fury of lightning, electrocutes the target and everything centered in a 5 foot radius around the core. The lightning coursing through the targets veins momentarily locks their nerves causing them to seize for the duration of your action. It does 3d8 or 2d12 damage
Necrotic: Swirling black smoke circles around the target draining the life from them and dealing 3d8 or 2d12 necrotic damage, the same damage can be used to heal the creator of the core.
Healing: The core strikes its target and heals small wounds and cuts as well helps to aid in pain relief and rid toxins from the system of the target. The target is healed by 3d8 or 2d12.
Multiple cores can be used on the same target (three max per hand/device using to throw/shoot them). However the cores, once made can be used by anyone for its intended purpose (this part is iffy and up to player and DM interpretation so that other players or even NPC's and adversaries could use the cores should they get their hands on them.
An unlimited amount of cores can be created and they are very light (about the weight of a large marble) maybe around 5 -7 grams
