Elemental energy coalesces into a diamond, floating between your two outstretched palms, causing it to heat up and glow white hot and spin rapidly. A 1-inch wide beam of concentrated, superheated energy shoots forth from the diamond in a 60ft line. As an action, the caster can either choose to:
Focus the beam a single target, it must make a dexterity saving throw, taking 6D8 fire damage on a failed save, or half as much on a successful one
Sweep the beam over a 60ft cone. Any creatures in the cone must make a dexterity saving throw, taking 2D8 fire damage on a failed save, or half as much on a successful one. Any flammable objects not being worn or carried, that are caught in this beam are ignited.
The spell ends if the caster uses their action to do anything other than choose one of these options.
This beam may also be used to cut through certain materials. If used for the full minute, the beam can cut through 3ft of stone or rock, or 3in of metal, creating a passage large enough for a medium sized creature to pass through.
At higher levels: When casting this spell using a spell slot of 4th level or higher, the damage increases by 1D8 for each spell slot above 3rd.
