“See how the currents flow around it? One little tug, and it all gets swirled up…”
- Ava Allblood
You close one of your eyes, look through the glass, and see the currents of magic in the world. Using this spell, you can choose one magic effect or spell within range, and twist the natural magic around you to corrupt its effects. You may do this as either an Action or a Reaction. To do so, look at the magic through the stained glass and crush the fungus in your other hand. Any spell of 4th level or lower is corrupted. Any spell above 4th level requires an ability check using your spellcasting ability. The DC is equal to 10 + the spell’s level + 1.
Instead of dispelling the magic, this technique instead corrupts its effects. The most simple way to do this is to just make it accomplish the opposite of its intent- such as causing Healing Word to deal damage, or making Arcane Lock keep the lock open magically. However, it is recommended that you discuss this spell with your DM to determine its effects, especially if a specific result is desired.
At Higher Levels: When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 5th level or higher, the automatic success threshold goes up by one spell level per level above 4th. Additionally, the amount of control you have over the nature of the corruption is greater depending on what level spell slot you use.
