As a reaction, you point a crooked finger at a creature that you can see that just damaged you. The creature is momentarily assailed by a sputtering mass of vitriol and must make a Dexterity saving throw. On a failed save, the creature takes 2d4 acid damage immediately and 1d4 acid damage at the end of its next turn. On a success, the creature takes half as much of the initial damage and no damage at the end of its next turn.

At Higher Levels. The damage increases by 1d4 in both instances for each level above 1st.

This homebrew spell is among a small selection of Acid magic created for a campaign featuring a player-character who wished to expand their spell list to align with their Sorcerer's Draconic Heritage. Many such spells are attempts to re-flavor existing magic under an acid theme – this spell is derived from Hellish Rebuke.
