Poison seeps into an item of food or drink that you directly touch. This poison is imperceptible to all natural senses, however, it can be detected by magical means. The spell lingers on the item for the duration, and if it is not consumed within that time the poison fades and the spell has no effect. If it is consumed, the poison does not take effect until concentration is broken, or the spell ends due to the duration expending. When either of these things happens, the target who consumed the poison must make a Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, the target takes 6d8 poison damage, and they are poisoned for 10 minutes. On a successful save, they take half as much damage and are not poisoned.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 4th level or higher, the damage increases by 2d8 for each slot level above 3rd.
