You bend the fabric of space-time, sending a projectile in a different direction. You redirect whichever projectile you cast this spell on in a different direction. It then proceeds to continue it's trajectory in said new direction. If this causes the projectile to hit someone or something else, make an attack roll against the new target. If the attack roll succeeds, the projectile does the same amount of damage it would have had this spell not been used.
For example, if someone fires an arrow for 90 feet east, and you cast this spell after the arrow has already travelled 60 feet, then the arrow's final trajectory is 60 feet east and then 30 feet north.
If the projectile in question is a physical object that isn't the result of a spell (ex. an arrow), then this spell fails if the object weighs 5 pounds or more.
If the projectile is the result of a spell, then this spell fails unless the projectile came from a cantrip.
This spell does not work on bullets, which travel too fast, nor does it work on a projectile created by the spell Catapult.
At Higher Levels: When cast at higher levels, the maximum weight a projectile can be is increased by 5 pounds per spell level past 1st, and you may redirect a projectile created by any spell of a lower level than the level you cast this spell at.
* - Taken whenever a projectile within this spell's range is travelling in an arc, straight line or other predictable trajectory.
