A burst of red lightning shoots out from you in a line 100 feet long and 5 feet wide, in a direction you choose. Each creature in the line must make a Dexterity saving throw. On a failed save, a creature takes 9d6 necrotic damage and 9d6 lightning damage. On a successful save, the damage is halved.
Additionally, when you cast this spell, you take 1d8 necrotic damage as the storm energy courses through you.
If a creature is killed by this spell, its essence is absorbed into the storm spectrum. The storm spectrum is a unique magical phenomenon that changes color and properties based on the creatures absorbed. The specifics of these changes are up to the DM's discretion, allowing for a variety of effects and outcomes.
Flammable objects in the area that aren’t being worn or carried are ignited by the lightning.
