You wave your hand in a circular pattern in front of you, materializing hundreds of ice shards into a clumped ball, with all the shards pointing in one direction. You then release the ice shards, sending up into the air to rain down on the target from above, or sending them directly forward on the area(s) of your choosing at a rapid pace, barraging the localized spot(s) and any creatures within it with sharp ice. Choose up to three 5-foot spaces, or one 15-foot diameter circle. Creatures within the chosen spots must make a dexterity-saving throw. A target takes 4d6 cold damage on a failed save for a 5-foot square, or 8d6 cold damage if the 15-foot diameter circle was chosen instead. On a successful save, creatures take half damage.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 4th-level or higher, the damage increases by 1d6 for each slot above 3rd for both the three 5-foot spaces and the 15-foot diameter circle.
