Freezing mist rises from the ground in a 30-foot radius centered on a point within range. The area becomes difficult terrain for the duration. When a creature moves into or within the area, it takes 4d8 piercing damage for every 5 feet it travels.
Whenever a creature is damage by this spell, it is forced to make a Constitution saving throw, or have its speed reduced by 10 feet.
If a creature's speed is reduced to 0 by this spell, it becomes frozen for the remainder of the spells duration. A frozen creature is considered paralyzed, and becomes immune to cold damage and vulnerable to fire damage. If a creature takes fire damage while frozen, they thaw after the damage is dealt, and their speed is restored to its base. Another creature may also use their action to free a frozen creature.
