You create a shield of blood around yourself that protects you from harm and lashes out at your enemies. You can use this spell in one of two ways:
- If you take damage from a creature within 60 feet of you, you can use your reaction to cast this spell using a drop of your own blood that has been drawn when you take damage as the material component.
- If you are within 5 feet of a creature, you can use your reaction to cast this spell by drawing blood from that creature with a sharp object, such as a dagger or a needle. The creature takes 1d4 piercing damage and must make a Constitution saving throw against your spell save DC or lose 1d4 hit points at the start of each of its turns until it receives any healing. You use the creature's blood as the material component for this spell.
Until the end of the duration, you gain temporary hit points equal to your spellcasting ability modifier + your spell level (minimum of 1). In addition, whenever you take damage, deal necrotic damage equal to half the amount of damage you took to the creature that damaged you, if it is within 60 feet of you and you can see it. The creature must make a Constitution saving throw against your spell save DC or suffer an additional effect depending on the source of the blood used for this spell:
- If you used your own blood, the creature is blinded until the start of your next turn.
- If you used the blood of an ally, the creature is frightened of you until the start of your next turn.
- If you used the blood of an enemy, the creature is paralyzed until the start of your next turn.
The spell end if your temp hp gone.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 4th level or higher, you gain an additional 1d8 temporary hit point and deal an additional 1d8 necrotic damage for each slot level above 3rd.
