You unleash a surge of chaotic energy at a creature that you can see within range. Make a ranged spell attack against the target. On a hit, the target takes 2d8 + 1d6 damage. The type of damage is determined by rolling a d6.

If you roll a 6 on the d6, the chaotic energy explodes on impact. Each creature within 10 feet of the target (including the target) must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw or take 1d6 thunder damage.
At Higher Levels: When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 3rd level or higher, each target takes 1d6 extra damage of the type rolled for each slot level above 2nd.
