Authoritative Authentication

You create a testimony that is accepted by everyone who reads it as irrefutable truth.

When casting this spell, you write a statement you believe to be true, and if the statement turns out to be false, then the spell fails. The statement can be no longer than 200 words and cannot span multiple topics. This spell cannot be used to verify a hypothesis you have no normal means of testing; to cast this spell, you must believe the statement to be beyond reasonable doubt. If your knowledge has been magically tampered with, such as via a Modify Memory spell, the magical effect is dispelled.

When showing this testimony to a being with sufficient intelligence to understand language, they are able to read it regardless of their own language or literacy, and intuitively, completely accept its contents as factual, regardless of any preexisting skepticism, bias, or prejudice, and factor that certainty into their relevant behavior and decision-making. Readers of this testimony remain aware of how plausible the contents sound to others and will not carelessly discuss the information as if it were common sense. Their normal behavior is otherwise unaffected.

The effect of this spell cannot be magically falsified. For example, if someone uses Modify Memory to implant a memory of reading a testimony created by this spell, the subject will immediately become aware that the testimony in their memory does not exist. This spell does not need to be invoked by name; any attempt to counterfeit the overall effect of "a magical proof that is accepted by anyone who reads it" will fail.

If the contents of the testimony cease to be true, it becomes ineffective, though it may regain its effectiveness if it becomes true again. Additionally, anyone who has previously read the testimony becomes aware that it has become false the next time they interact with, talk about, or think about the subject of the testimony. For example, if you show a testimony stating you are not a thief to a city guard, enter the city, and then steal, the next time that guard is asked if there are any thieves in town they will immediately think of you.
