Targeting a creature that has been dead for no more than 1 hour, you cause its corpse to violently explode. Any creatures within 10 feet of the corpse when it explodes must make a Dexterity saving throw against your spell save DC. On a failure, they take 4d8 magical bludgeoning and 2d8 magical necrotic damage. On a successful save, they only take half damage. Additionally, each creature within 30 feet of the corpse when it explodes, must make a Wisdom saving throw against your spell save DC. On a failure they are frightened of you for 1 minute. On a success they are not frightened. Frightened creatures can make a Wisdom saving throw and the end of each of their turns, ending the effect on a success. Any attempts to resurrect a creature whose corpse has been exploded fail, unless true resurrection, or wish are used to revive said creature.
At Higher Levels: When you cast this spell using a 4th level spell slot or higher, both damage types are increased by 1d8 for every slot above 3rd used. Additionally, whenever you cast this spell using a 4th level spell slot or higher, you may target an additional corpse (maximum 3), if it is within 10 feet of the original corpse.
