Brilliant thunder flashes in a 60-foot radius centered on a point you choose within range. Each creature in that area must make a Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, a creature takes 20d4 thunder damage and is paralyzed for 1 minute. On a successful save, it takes half as much damage and isn't paralyzed by this spell. Undead, devils, demons, fiends, monsters and oozes have disadvantage on this saving throw.
A creature paralyzed by this spell makes another Constitution saving throw at the end of each of its turns. On a successful save, it is no longer paralyzed. This spell dispels any darkness in its area that was created by a spell. If you cast this spell outside in stormy conditions, you can reroll any damage dice that roll a 1, and you must use the new rolls for those damage dice.
Enochian. As part of your action in casting this spell, you must first intone this chant, as your character, out loud;
"O Spirit of Thunder, Swift in the sky, You who makes the Earth and Air tremble with your voice - I your servant, call upon your awesome power - a power that smites all evil - become like thunderbolts in my hand - Angelic Thunder!"
This spell was inspired by the goddess Urd - a goddess of second rank; and half demon, half angelic heritage. She so despised her demon ancestry, that she asked a God to help her create a magic to dispel evil. That magic was later re-created by the magi of wonder and whimsy; Cameron the Clairvoyant. He loved to create, and was inspired by many things around him - people, places, things, concepts, nature, anime, pop culture - and loved to craft superior unique things for the Dungeons and Dragons community. Check out his homebrew creations in every category on D&DBeyond, and feel free to incorporate them into your homebrew campaigns. Cameron the Clairvoyant is a former player-character that reached level 20 and now functions as a NPC Archwizard, and has created numerous impactful magic items, weapons, subclasses, monsters, creatures, feats and spells. Seek him out in your next quest! He loves to take requests and interact with parties of player-adventurers.
