The spell unpredictably transforms the mass of a creature you can see within range in an uncontrolled polymorphic effect. The target must make a Wisdom saving throw. On a successful save, the spell fails with no effect.
On a failed save the target is incapacitated until the spell ends. At the end of each of its turns, the target can make another Wisdom saving throw. On a success, the spell ends harmlessly.
If the spell is dismissed or end because concentration is broken, all the target's shifted mass is explosively released in a burst of jibs. Each creature within a distance determined by the size of the creature must make a Dexterity saving throw, taking 8d8 bludgeoning damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.

Shapeshifters, and creatures with the Amorphous or Immutable Form traits are immune to this spell.
At Higher Levels: When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 6th level or higher, the damage increases by 1d8 for each slot level above 5th.
