You focus on a creature that you can see that has died within the last hour. You speak a vow that binds your soul to that of the dead creature who immediately returns to life with half their maximum hit points. This spell can't return a creature to life that has died of old age, nor can it restore any missing body parts.
Once soulbound your fates are intertwined, if either of you die the other's maximum hit points are perminently halfed and they must succeed on a DC 18 constitution check to break the soulbond or fall dead at the same time.
If you cast this spell while your soul is bound it fails but still expends the spell slot.
Under most circumstances your soul cannot be separated by anything short of a wish, while bound, if one of you is brought back to life after you both die the other is dragged with them, often to the same body.
