You create linked teleportation portals between your location and another spot within range. Choose a surface within 5 feet of you, and a location that you can see, visualize or describe by stating distance and direction, such as "200 feet straight downward" or "upward to the northwest at a 45-degree angle, 300 feet". If you don't know of a surface at that location, the DM will determine an appropriate surface on which your portal can appear. If there is no surface at that location, the spell fails and no portals are created.

Each portal is shaped like a keyhole, 2 feet in height and 1 foot in width. The portal is visible and casts 20 feet of dim light at both locations. Creatures at both locations can look through and see the location at the other end of the portal as if looking through a window into a room.

As a part of casting this spell, you can use 5 feet of movement to magically enter the portal at your location and exit from the other portal as if the two were adjacent to each other. There must be an unoccupied space in the space immediately in front of the destination portal for you to complete the teleportation. The portals close at both ends immediately after you have passed through them. If you choose not to pass through the portals, they immediately close.

Only you may pass through the portal. No other creature or object can pass through the portals using physical or magical means, nor can spells or magical effects be cast through the portal to affect creatures, objects or the environment at the destination.
