You conjure a howling blizzard of swirling clouds which covers the ground in deep snow and ice. The storm fills a 40-foot-radius, 60-foot-high cylinder centered at a point you can see within range. The area becomes heavily obscured and the ground becomes difficult terrain. Any creature that enters the area for the first time or starts its turn there must make a Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, a creature takes 6d8 cold damage and their movement speed becomes 0. On a successful save they only take half damage and can move. You may choose any number of creatures to be unaffected by the spell's damaging effects.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 7th level or higher, the damage increases by 1d8 for each slot level above 7th.
