As an action, you utter a dark incantation that infuses a piece of diseased flesh in the palm of your hand with negative energy, transforming the disease within it into a magical entity you command to infect a creature you can see within range. Constructs, undead, and creatures immune to disease are immune to the effects of this spell. The creature must succeed on a Constitution saving throw or suffer 2d6 necrotic damage and become infected. On a success, the creature takes half damage instead and is not infected. On each of your turns for the duration, you gain the following features:
- As a bonus action, you can force either an infected creature or another creature within 15 feet of an infected creature to make a Constitution saving throw or suffer 2d6 necrotic damage and become infected if they aren’t already. On a success, the creature takes half damage instead and is not infected.
- As an action, you can force all creatures infected by this spell to make a Constitution saving throw or suffer 2d6 necrotic damage. On a success, infected creatures take half damage instead.
By the end of the spell’s duration, all creatures infected by this spell are no longer infected. A creature that has either lesser restoration or greater restoration cast upon it is no longer infected.
At Higher Levels: When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 4th level or higher, all damage dealt by the spell increases by 2d6 for every two slot levels above 2nd. Furthermore, each time a creature fails a Constitution saving throw to resist any effect of this spell, they become poisoned until the end of their next turn.
