Shapechanging (...)

You make yourself--including your clothing, armor, weapons, and other belongings on your person--look different until the spell ends or until you use your action to dismiss it. You may shift your appearance into any person you know of the same body type or you may shift your form into any beast of roughly similar size. The visual effect of this illusion is one of transition from your natural form into the form you are adopting.

You do not gain any special abilities or movement if you shift into a beast. If you disguise yourself as a giant condor, for example, you do not gain the power of flight.

The changes wrought by this spell fail to hold up to physical inspection. For example, if you use this spell to add a hat to your outfit, objects pass through the hat, and anyone who touches it would feel nothing or would feel your head and hair. If you use this ability to transform into a massive constrictor snake laying on the ground, a person waving their arm at your torso level would bump into you.

To discern that you are disguised, a creature can use its action to inspect your appearance and must succeed on an Intelligence (Investigation) check against your spell save DC.

When you reach 3rd level, your cloak of illusion can also cause creatures within 10' of you to become stricken with Fear. They must make a WIS save or become frightened of you. The DC is equal to 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Intelligence modifier.
