This spell creates an undead servant. Choose a pile of bones or a corpse of a Medium or Small creature within range. Your spell conducts negative energy through the medium of blood and bone, but does not truly animate the body, raising it as an unusual undead puppet. It has no bonuses or penalties to it's attributes, and it's attacks and armor are based off of equipment provided, or natural weapons and features present, without any strength or dexterity bonuses. They generally have 13 hit-points, but being puppeted and not actually animated, their last hitpoint cannot normally be taken by piercing, slashing, or bludgeoning damage that does not overkill them by at least 12 damage.
On each of your turns, you can use a bonus action to mentally command any creature you made with this spell if the creature is within 60 feet of you (if you control multiple creatures, you can command any or all of them at the same time, issuing the same command to each one). You decide what action the creature will take and where it will move during its next turn. Since the body itself is not technically animated, it is truly mindless. It cannot act for itself and ignores any and everything aside from it's commands. It will not defend itself if given no instruction, and particularly complex commands may require an arcana or persuasion check to communicate effectively.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 4th level or higher, you animate or reassert control over an additional corpse for each slot level above 3rd. Each of the creatures must come from a different corpse or pile of bones.
