You channel water into a whip- or tentacle-like shape, creating a water whip that occupies a space of 5 feet on a surface of water up to 30 feet away. The water whip lasts up to 10 rounds, but will dissipate if you lose concentration or if the surface it is on is destroyed.
You can attack an enemy with a water whip using a bonus action; When attacking with a water whip, make a melee spell attack against a target within 10 feet of the water whip. On a hit, the target takes 2d8 cold damage. You can also use your opportunity attack on an enemy near a water whip.
You can also use your bonus action to end the spell early.
Upcasting Water Whip allows you to create an additional water whip for each level beyond 2nd. The material component scales per water whip created. Each water whip must be within range, and they cannot overlap with each other. When using your bonus action to attack with your water whips, you can make a melee spell attack for each water whip. Opportunity attacks using your water whips can only be done once per round.
