You attempt to absorb the energy of a spell as it is the process of being cast. If the creature is casting a spell of 4th level or lower, its spell fails and sorcerer gains sorcery points equal to the spell level cast. If it is casting a spell of 4th level or higher, make an ability check using your spellcasting ability. The DC equals 10 + the spell's level. On a success, the creature's spell fails and gains sorcery points equal to the spell level cast. Sorcery points gained can not increase you above your maximum allowed points.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 5th level or higher, the absorbed spell fails and sorcery points are gained if the spell absorbed is less than or equal to the level of the spell slot you used.
