While holding the material component, you touch a surface with that same hand. The material component is consumed, and a translucent eye appears on the point you touched. The eye will remain there for the spell's duration, and casting the spell again while the first instance is still active will dispel the existing eye. The conjured eye is visible to anyone and cannot be hidden by magical means.
While the spell is in effect, you can focus to see through the eye. You will see what it sees, and you can concentrate to change the direction the eye is looking. The eye does not allow you to hear anything in its vicinity unless you were already physically close enough to do so. While focusing through the eye, you become blind but not deaf to your own surroundings.
Once the eye has been conjured, you can focus through it from up to a mile away.
