Healing

You lather your weapon of choice with a healing balm, alchemical concoction, or otherwise medicinal brew. The next time you successfully land a weapon attack against a target(s), the subsequent damage you inflict will be replaced with healing up to a maximum of 12 + your spellcasting ability modifier.

Any additional damage that exceeds this number will affect the target as usual. This healing also extends to any subsequent damaging effects of the weapon attack that may occur within the same attack action, (e.g. Smite, Hail of Thorns, Crimson Rite) In which case you can divy up the healing amidst the various targets as you see fit in the event the total damage delt exceeds the total healing possible.

If the target is undead, they instead treat the healing as radiant damage, and if they are a construct they ignore the effects of this spell and simply treat the damage as damage.

At Higher Levels. When you cast the spell using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, the maximum possible healing increases by 12 for each slot level above 1st, up to a maximum of 60 + your spellcasting ability modifier at level 5.
