This spell is the magnum opus of the archlich Aarau, infamous for his hypothetical Destroy Universe spell, which he so desperately sought to create in vain. Destroy Realm is the most potent and powerful spell that Aarau managed to craft before he fell into a unconscious state within his crypt to ponder thoughts on how to create his dream spell uninterrupted. Within his crypt lies the one and only spell scroll for Aarau's Destroy Realm. The crypt has heavy magical wards placed upon it, rendering it immune to any divination spells used to find it, however a wish spell can reveal the location of the crypt.

Once the caster of this spell has found the crypt, stolen the scroll from it (most likely after having faced Aarau himself) and deciphered the ancient texts and runes, the spell can then be cast. After the 666 hour long ritual, in which the caster lists long passages of souls caged by the King of the Nine Hells, Asmodeus, and traces special runes and incantations made by Aarau in glitter, the area within a 150 mile radius of the caster is destroyed. All matter is erased, leaving only a crater and no trace of the land and inhabitants that were destroyed. The casters soul and body is then teleported in a cataleptic state to Asmodeus.

Aarau made a dark pact with Asmodeus thousands of years ago when first crafting Destroy Realm. By the terms of the pact, any creature who casts the spell forfeits their soul, along with the souls of anyone killed by the spell to Asmodeus. The only way to reverse the spell is to kill the caster, which is the only way to dispel Destroy Realm. In that case, the destroyed land is returned and the creatures are resurrected as if nothing happened. However, Asmodeus deeply covets the body and soul of the caster, and is highly unlikely to part with it without a fight or an equally colossal sacrifice of souls as a bargain.
