You concoct an illusion on a present wave or body of water within range, making it appear larger (or smaller) than it actually is. Upon cast, choose one of the effects below.
- If cast on a relatively calm body of water, you must be able to see both sides of the expanse before casting. If you are able to do so, you may double the apparent diameter of the body of water, as long as you are still within 60 feet of the water's edge, and still able to see both edges of the water. You may also choose to halve the apparent diameter of a body of water, as long as it follows the same restrictions. These changes are purely visual and auditory illusions, and can be discovered on contact with the illusion or from an Investigation check versus your spell save DC.
- If cast on an already present wave, the wave immediately appears to be 5 feet taller than it's actual size, with the apparent depth and width of wave conforming to its new image. These changes purely visual and auditory illusions, and can be discovered on contact with the illusion or from an Investigation check versus your spell save DC.
At Higher Levels. For enlarging or shrinking a body of water, at 1st level or above, you may shrink or grow the apparent frame of the liquid by an additional factor of two, provided the initial restrictions are still respected. Ex. As a cantrip, a 1 foot diameter puddle becomes a 2 foot diameter puddle. At 1st level it becomes a 4 foot diameter puddle, at 2nd level it becomes an 8 foot diameter puddle, etc.
For enlarging or shrinking a present wave, at 1st level or above, you may also shrink or grow the apparent height of the wave by a factor of two, with the other dimensions conforming to fit the new image.
