As you exhale, you summon a torrential sandstorm from the gemstone deserts of the Feywild. Sand-sized rubies, sapphires, diamonds, emeralds and other precious gems scour those caught in the blast. When you cast this spell, each creature within a 30ft cone must make a Dexterity saving throw. On a failed save, a creature takes 4d8 bludgeoning damage and 4d8 slashing damage and is knocked prone. On a successful save, they take half as much damage and are not knocked prone.
For the duration of the spell, the ground directly beneath the cone is covered in dunes of shimmering gemstone sand, making the area difficult terrain. Any creature in or adjacent to this area can, during the duration of the spell, use a bonus action to scoop up a handful of sand. The sand can be used to satisfy the material components of a spell with a listed, consumed cost and a casting time under 1 minute. At the end of the duration, the gemstones dissipate into the aether, returning to the Feywild.
Other sources of vast interplanar wealth can serve as the source for this spell, such as gold and silver from the vaults of Pluto, or platinum from the heavenly horde of Bahamut.
