As the spell is cast, make a mental note of how much gold you're willing to sacrifice as part of its spell components.
You flip a coin into the air, and catch it as it melts into a mote of glimmering, golden light in your palm. The more gold you1 spend on this spell, the brighter the light gets, as your coin purse magically finds itself several orders of magnitude lighter than it once was.
A mystical barrier surrounds you, manifesting as an impossibly thin layer of gold leaf that covers you and your gear. You gain 15 temporary hit points for the spell's duration, plus an additional point per 5 gp consumed in the spell's casting, up to a maximum of 10 additional hit points when cast at second level. While you have these hit points, any creature that hits you with an attack will also take radiant damage equal to your Charisma modifier.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 3rd level or higher, you gain 5 additional temporary hit points for each slot level above 2nd, and the bonus health cap increases by 10.
