You conjure the essence of night into a single burst of energy. Darkness falls upon an area you can see, with a radius of up to 3,000 feet. This darkness cannot be lit, seen through by darkvision, blindsight, truesight, or any other means of visual transfer. The veil also blocks sound of all kind coming from anywhere further than 2 feet of a creature, and this effect cannot be countered either. You alone can see through the veil, but only to a radius of 50 feet. Telepathic communication can be used under the veil, but it requires concentration from a creature. This utter sensory deprivation takes a toll on creatures. For every 1 hour a creature spends in the veil with no contact, it takes 2d12 psychic damage, and after 4 hours, it becomes temporarily insane for a period of 1d6.+ hours in the veil. This period takes effect after the veil has lifted. Dispel magic has no effect on this spell, unless it is cast at equal or higher level to the level of the spell when you cast it. When the veil lifts, all creatures affected by it (you not included) fall prone and are incapacitated for 1d4 minutes.
