Name or describe an event, creature, or object which occurred at or was in your current location within the past month. If the thing you named happened longer ago in the past, the spell fails. If the spell does not fail, you are Incapacitated until the spell completes or you lose concentration and you become deaf and blind to the present as visions of past events unfold before you.

While the spell is active, you perceive the world as it was during the event described or when something important occurred to the named creature or object while it was in your current location. Important events are up to the GM's discretion. This perception of the past covers a range of 1000 feet around you, and in this range you can see, hear, and move around (doing so in your current time as well, and thus movement is limited by any current changes to terrain), though you cannot physically interact with anything in your vision. If the events as they occurred would be too obscured (as if by a lack of light, by a darkness spell, or by heavy fog or rain) or too quiet (as if by a silence spell) for you to perceive, you can perceive them anyway.

The spell's duration is the same as the duration of the event described or the series of important events which occurred to the creature or object in your location within the last month.

If a creature which cannot be scried upon was present during any events viewed by this spell, they are blurred beyond recognition. If an anti-magic field was active during the named event, the spell fails. If such a field was active during some of, but not all the important events which occurred to a creature or object in the past month, then those events are not shown but the others are.

At Higher Levels: If you cast this spell using a spell slot of 6th level or higher, you can view events which occurred up to 1 year ago (7th level), 10 years ago (8th level), 1 century ago (9th level).
