You surround the weapon used in the spell's casting with a paper-thin whirlwind that tears at anything the blade comes in contact with. You then brandish that weapon and make a melee attack with it against one creature within 5 feet of you. On a hit, the target suffers the weapon attack’s normal effects in addition to slashing damage equal to your spellcasting ability modifier.

At Higher Levels. This spell’s damage increases when you reach certain levels. At 5th level, the slashing damage equals 2d6 + your spellcasting ability modifier. At 11th level, the slashing damage equals 4d6 + your spellcasting ability modifier. At 17th level, the slashing damage equals 6d6 + your spellcasting ability modifier.
